Life After

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Whenever you're reading this! It's me, Maitreyi. Yeah I know, a long gap since my last post, but worth the wait! I have so many exciting things to share with you all and I can't even wait to begin. But first, the apology. I, Maitreyi K, solemnly swear that I was up to all good during my rather large break, and I hope you can let me off the hook in case you were (and hopefully are) a consistent reader.  I apologize for being away and I'd like to make up for it by sharing juicy details about my life. So, first things first, I have cleared the hardest core papers of my engineering exams! And I'm talking about concepts that were specifically created to juice the jam out of my poor brain. So that's an amazing win! Next, I prepared with blood, sweat and tears to give a crack at one of the toughest entrance exams in my country to access fine quality higher education in the field of Management. I cleared it as well.  Then I attended interv...

Ying & Yang (2) - What Went Right?

Hello all!  Thank you very much for your patient wait. Here comes part two.  (Part one in a nutshell: Two (apparently) thick friends, Ann Tah and Jin-Ah had a feud when the former ditched the latter for a guy. The latter felt that this friend is no different from people who stab others in the back casually. If you want to know more, feel free to read the first part here .) ..."And that's why I cut contact with you." said Ann Tah. Jin-Ah's mind snapped in an instant. All she could now feel was pain. Pain in her heart.  Pain in her head.  Pain in her what not. "Please give me time." was all Jin-Ah could tell. She had initially planned for some crazy time in the city with Ann Tah but ended crazy with her heart in pieces.  The next one hour was silent. Silence as of a funeral. Jin-Ah was never this silent of the days she had lived.   It was time to settle down to rectify either what went wrong in the relationship or to let go of the friendship.  Jin-Ah wan...

Mahendra Singh Bahubali

The Legend Hello dear Readers!!! We’ve finished yet another month of the year 2k21, probably without knowing how it went by (because of the lockdown and the pandemic, of course), and have entered the month that is the first to represent double digits!!! I, personally, am super excited for this month, the reason being the fact that I’m a HUGE cricket fanatic (Read the Editor’s bio to get clarity *wink*) So, why should I get excited in terms of cricket because it’s October? It’s because of 2 marquee cricketing events that are happening / will be happening in this month and the next – the Indian Premier League and the ICC World T20. Having these 2 events back to back doesn’t only mean almost 60 days of non – stop T20 action; it also means we get to see a brilliant mastermind in live action on the cricket field – a phenomenon known to Chennai Super Kings fans as Thala Dharisanam (Sighting of the Cricket God) – the presence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the ground!!!   As our dear ...

Moral Stories for the Modern World

Hello Dear Readers!!!! It gives me immense pleasure in writing my first article in this Blog as the Editor, and I hope I can do at least half as much as what my Sister, the Author, has done over time through her articles in this Blog. So, let's begin!  In our childhood, one thing that literally everyone of us would've invariably done is to listen to stories. As kids, we were told many stories by various people, the purpose of telling the stories ranging from making us eat to try and lull us to sleep. And some other stories were told just for the sake of telling them, maybe in what we had as 'story time'. So, in this story time, we all would remember listening to 'Moral Stories'. These were short, enthralling stories that had a simple moral at the end, like "Honesty is the best policy". And yes, we can never deny the role of these moral stories in shaping the very very basic values in our hearts that we still hold close to us. However, are moral stories...

21* - Big Innings

Level 21 in Lockdown Hello my lovely readers! I took a pleasant break from blogging to focus a lot on my inner world and lets just say it was worth every bit of the hiatus.  I feel a lot more fresh, inspired, energized and enlightened and we at Parinaama are going to serve your mind, body and soul with the nuggets of wisdom we know you'll appreciate.  Cricket lovers will understand the title of today's post (I maayyyyy have been a tad bit influenced by my effervescent cricket mad editor) and for me personally, the number 21 is quite significant. 2+1 adds up to 3 (my absolute favourite number) 21 is the day of the month I was born 20 overs are all there is in T20 cricket BUT its the 21st over (the super over) that becomes the turning point of a nail biting match that ended in a tie. And strangely, that's how I feel about my life so far. The first 10 years - lost in oblivion. I barely developed proper social skills since I was labelled "shy" and I stuck to that labe...

Making Choices = Facing Consequences

There is no choice without a consequence Hellew lovely readers! Been a while, hasn't it! I hope you are safe, sound and searching for your soul because 2021 doesn't seem to be going away in a hurry any time soon - hence now is the best time to choose to look within and discover/create yourself.  This choice certainly has its consequences : Empowerment. Energetic Alignment. Soulful Satisfaction. Before these sweet consequences come into the picture, you’ll have to face the not so pretty consequence of discomfort, venturing into the unknown, questioning yourself and your life choices up till now, critically evaluating who you are as a person, when previously you might have not even given a thought about this other than superficial SWOT analyses where you might have done a shallow level of self inspection. I can speak from experience that these seemingly uncomfortable consequences are worth it because in the process of facing them head on, you learn who you truly are and who your ...

The Art Of Acceptance

" Acceptance, in human psychology, is a person's assent to the reality of a situation, recognizing a process or condition (often a negative or uncomfortable situation) without attempting to change it or protest it. " - Wikipedia Hello Wanderers... an august April to you (pun intended :P)!   March has been a month of earning too many brain wrinkles (which appear when one attempts to learn or apply something new), academically, spiritually and emotionally for me. And here I am to share my insights on the art of acceptance ( which would have made March so much more simpler for me ).   What does acceptance have to do with brain wrinkles? You'll be able to answer this question by the end of this article. Now, before I start, let's get the basics straight.   We lovely hoomans, with our amazing brain capacity and fantastic ability to analyze, create and predict, sadly tend to falter in one area where all other species seamlessly succeed - ACCEPTANCE.   Having evolved wit...
