              The Author
Maitreyi K
(pronounced My-threy-ee), is the ever evolving author of Parinaama and a rambunctiously infectious bundle of joy and kindness. This blog has been and is an outlet for all her philosophical, esoteric, creative, hilarious and real life reflections and insights, which you'll enjoy reading.

What started off as a journal of her deep thoughts on everything she observed around her is now a medium for us to spread hope, wisdom, faith and laughter. Her spontaneity keeps us in awe while her sharp wit, keen observations and precariously positioned hair bun keeps us on our toes in the best way possible :)

About her
() A sensitive, empathic, evolving, philosophical introvert who  channels her thought provoking articles and posts into our blog and Instagram page. @parinaama_blog

() Currently a full time Chemical Engineering student with an all time analyzing, analogy-making and introspecting nature.

() Voracious reader, progressing meditator and spiritual junkie.

() Generally found lost in the admiration of Keerthy Suresh, melt-worthy literature, good lyrics, classical music and the Universe

         The Editor

Subrahmanyam B R

He is a constant cheerleader, compassionate motivator, non-judgmental listener, sharp-witted talker and happiness provider not only to us but also to all the people he meets.

He has been our editor since September 2020 and man do we love him and his amazing proofreading skills, timely observations, gentle corrections as well as hilarious sense of humor!

About him

Karmic Forces (1) - Conversations

This is the first part in a 6 part fictional story series. Everything in this story is purely imaginary with inspirations from real life. Any resemblances to any person or occasion in real life is completely coincidental. 1. Conversations Tired out by the activities of the day, Miraa changed into her loose yellow t shirt and black pants, turned on the AC, curled up in her bed, comforter carelessly strewn over her feet, nose hooked inside a book, eyes and mind engrossed in its contents.  She was a 20 year old college goer, with small, brown eyes, a rather flat nose, a set of imperfect, yellowish, crooked teeth and with wavy, shoulder-length, black hair now tied in a characteristic bun, with a milky complexion. As she continued reading, a chill went down her spine. The chill had nothing to do with the atmosphere provided by the air conditioner nor with the gripping story of the book.  A feeling of being watched, almost that of being quietly examined, suddenly made her feel vulne...

Shadow Self (1) - Facing Our Shadow Self

Facing our dark side Though there are many versions of the concept of 'Shadow Self', the one that I feel to be most well rounded is the Carl Jungian concept of the Shadow Self. The shadow self are the parts of our own nature that we wish to avoid looking at and hence that which we wish to avoid relating our self image with. It refers to the neglected parts of ourselves that we would have pushed away into our subconscious because we intentionally or unintentionally avoid dealing with it, at the moment when it begged to be dealt with, out of the pressure of our own beliefs of who we should or should not be. It can include everything outside the light of our consciousness and may be positive or negative. Now, I believe we are energy itself. When a part of our energy begs for our attention because it feels hurt or at a lower vibration, it is up to us, whether we decide to deal with that part of ourselves or not. Of course,  1. the surrounding environment,  2...

An Apology to My Inner Critic

Dear Inner Critic, It feels weird to call you dear when I've been antagonizing you my entire life; when in fact any motivational video that I've come across has only lectured me to ignore you and prove you wrong.   I loved ignoring you because you just seem to pop out of nowhere to be my personalized buzz kill.  I loved proving you wrong because it weirdly boosts my ego, for me to tell "I told you I was right" to a voice that always tells me this dialog (mini revenge). But you know what, Covid has hit the world and locked me up in self isolation and I fell into the world of personal development ( because why not? ).  And I have made amazing progress to say the least but I seem to be having a major stumbling point when it comes to "compassion" - the art of having concern for the misfortune of others and being willing to look beyond their flaws - with people who I have felt hurt by ( obviously including you ).  I mean, I can have compassion for people who...
